Women’s Fellowship Sacrificial Luncheon

Please join the Women’s Fellowship for their annual Sacrificial Luncheon to be held on Tuesday, March 1, at 12:30 p.m. A “Sacrificial” meal of a beverage and hot cross bun will be served. An “Equivalent” lunch donation will be received and donated to a mission project. The Women’s Fellowship invites all men, women, and friends to join us for a time of fellowship. Hostess Coordinator will be the Wednesday Circle and devotions will be lead by Kay Evans. Our program will be presented by The Rev. Len Buxton.


Sight and Sound Theatre Bus Trip

SAVE THE DATE! The Women’s Fellowship will sponsor a trip to the Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster on Friday, June 10, to see Sampson. Lunch will be at the Kitchen Kettle on your own. The show is at 2:45 p.m. and dinner will be at Hershey Farms at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $108 and includes bus, dinner, and show. Women’s Fellowship Upcoming Events

Women’s Fellowship is sponsoring two upcoming events in November.

On November 3rd at 6pm, Women’s Fellowship invites all men, women, children and friends to come out to a covered dish dinner, which will be held in Church of Christ Uniting’s Fellowship Hall.  Devotions will be given by Michelle Giza and the Hostess Coordinator for this dinner is Ethel Drasnin.   Amy Roccograndi, Robyn Ruckle and Jackie Tona will be presenting information about their business, Reaching Beyond Limits, and on Misercordia University’s Ruth Matthews Bourger Women with Children Program.  Please bring your favorite casserole, salad or desert to share and enjoy good food and fellowship.

On November 12th, Women’s Fellowship will be sponsoring a bus trip to the American Music Theater in Lancaster to see the Christmas show.  They will be eating lunch at Shady Maple.  The price for this trip is $89.00.  Please send your check to Beverly Sobocinski, 293 Highland Avenue, Trucksville, PA 18708 or call the church office at (570)288-8434 with any questions regarding this trip.


Covered Dish Dinner- September 8th

Women’s Fellowship invites all men, women and friends to come to the covered dish dinner on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Please bring your favorite casserole, salad or dessert to share. The Hostess Coordinators are provided by the Wednesday Circle. Program will be presented by Clancy Harrison. “Making the Community a Better Place One Apple at a Time.” No reservations are required.


Lancaster Bus Trip- May 21, 2014

Women’s Fellowship is sponsoring a bus trip to the Sight and Sound Theatres in Lancaster for the World Premiere of Moses on May 21, 2014.

Moses did have an action-packed life, from being sent down the Nile in a basket when he was a baby, to parting the Red Sea, encountering God in the form of a burning bush, experiencing the 10 plagues of Egypt and receiving the Ten Commandments from God.  All of these events will be portrayed in the show at the Sight and Sound Theatres in Lancaster.

Before the show enjoy lunch at Shady Maple and have some time to shop their Gift Shop.  The price of the trip is $101.00 and includes bus seat, Moses show ticket, lunch and driver tip.  The bus leaves Church of Christ Uniting, Sprague Avenue, Kingston at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

Women’s Fellowship Bus Trip November 9th

Women’s Fellowship will sponsor a trip on Saturday, November 9, to see the Christmas Show at the American Music Theatre. We will be going to Shady Maple for lunch before the show. The cost is $89.00. Women’s Fellowship 5th Annual Chili/ Soup Cook Off

On Saturday, October 26th from 4:30PM-6:00PM the COCU’s Women’s Fellowship will be hosting their 5th Annual Chili/ Soup Cook Off.  The event will take place in the church’s fellowship hall which has an entrance directly from the church’s parking lot on Market St.

There is a $10.00 entrance fee to submit your prepared recipe for tasting (deadline for entries is October 19th).  And there is a $3.50 tasting fee for chili and $3.50 tasting fee for soup.

All entries must be presented in a crock pot at fellowship hall by 4 pm on October 26thPrizes awarded for best in each category, judged by a local chef and tasters at the event.

This event is a Women’s Fellowship fundraiser and is open to the community as well as COCU, so please invite your friends and neighbors.

Take-outs will be for sale; a variety of additional chili/soup will be available to purchase.

Mission Central is the mission warehouse of the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church.  Along with our satellite operations called “HUBS” they supply humanitarian goods and logistical services to hundreds of different ministry and social service agencies.  We process United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) “Relief Kits” for use around the world, provide all types of needed supplies for local and national ministries, and assist many projects nationally and around the world.
