Vacation Bible School 2016

VBS Cavequest was a huge success! Over 20 kids participated in our program and had so much fun while learning about “Following Jesus – The Light of the World”. While exploring their cave, the kids met 5 Bible buddies that taught them Jesus gives us hope, courage, direction, love, and power. Through games, crafts, songs, Bible quests, and cave exploration, the kids learned that they can truly do anything if they follow Jesus.

We had a great crew of volunteers including Ian MacDougall, Cindy Kazinski, Matt Pawlowski, Alexa Eidam, Beth Admiraal, Anne Lew, Megan Lloyd, Merrybeth Andress, Karen Lindsay, Curt Schwarzwalder, Marlene Murphy, Bob Fannon, Robyn Fannon, Dorothy Lane, and Ginny Dancheck. A HUGE thank you to them for all of their help!

Thank you, also, to our teen volunteers of Oliver Lew, Matt Price, Matt Williams, Annemaaike Reitsma, and Jack Lane.

Thank you, as well, to Charlie Dancheck, Bill Ellsworth, and June Gavenonis for all of their help “behind the scenes”.

A special thank you to Cindy Kazinski for the amazing posters she made of our Bible buddies and the delicious brownies that accompanied our ice cream sundaes.

A special “note” of thanks to Ian MacDougall for a job well done with the music ministry and in particular our final performance.

I feel so blessed to have had so much support with our VBS program and can’t thank you all enough!

– Amy Williams

Thursday Lunch Bunch

WHO IS THIS MAN?–  Come join a great group Thursdays at lunch bunch as we discuss Presbyterian pastor John Ortberg’s depiction of Jesus as the man who changed the world!  We will meet Thursdays at 11am (many go to lunch after at 12:30) with the exception of Maundy Thursday- March 24- when we will go to lunch after the 10am Wesley Village communion, and meet at 1pm back at COCU for our study!

October Lunch Bunch

Don’t miss an opportunity to learn and grow with friends at our Lunch Bunch study!  Broken and Blessed is a study of the families in Genesis that are our ancestors of faith.  No one was perfect!  It was through their brokenness and ordinary trials they discovered God’s blessings and thus became a blessing to others who struggle with faith and life issues.

October 1- Isaac and Rebekah
October 8- Jacob and Esau
October 15- Jacob and Esau
October 22- Rachel and Leah
October 29- Joseph and his brothers

Lunch Bunch- May and June

ONE MORE TIME! Lunch bunch meets on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. and is open to everyone.
We have decided to ‘re-run’ The God We Can Know that was the focus of adult class on Sundays. So if you can’t, or don’t stay after church but would like to hear more of Jesus “I AM’ statements in the gospel of John- “I am the door, I am the vine, I am the bread, I am the good shepherd…,” you may come join us and catch up on what you missed, or hear these sayings set in the background of Jerusalem sites where Jesus taught and preached. It is a great series that will begin April 30, and conclude June 11 (7 weeks). Contact Pastor Carol for more information.
