Youth Triennium is back again and this year’s theme is “I AM” echoing from the
“I am” statements of Jesus, and whispering even further back in the story of
our faith from the Hebrew people’s encounters with Yahweh. “I am who I am.”
During the 2013
Triennium, participants will explore, each day, one of the significant “I am”
metaphors from the gospels. Jesus used
the “I am” images to help the rookie disciples understand his purpose, depth of
care, everlasting, presence and wide redemptive love. We hope to do the same in hearing and seeing
and praying these stories at Triennium!
When: July 16-20, 2013 (Our delegation will need a day of travel before and after so please plan to be away from July 15-21, 2013.)
Where: The Triennium is held at Purdue University.
Cost: The registration fee for the 2013 Triennium is $469.00/ per person plus travel expenses. Travel expenses include bus travel, lodging for July 15th and 20th and meals on those evenings. The approximate cost for travel is $100.00 but this may be adjusted down as we approach the event.
Registration: Youth attending the churches in the Presbytery of Lackawanna are invited to attend. Youth may attend if they are entering their freshmen year of high school through graduated seniors. We also need adult advisors, male and female, based on the number of youth who register. The adult advisors must be 21 years and older or be active in youth ministry or experienced in supervising youth excursions. Adult advisors will need to provide a current background check or complete a new one.

If you have any questions feel free to email Lesley O’Boyle at email@example.com.

One of the events is the Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk – a casual 2-3 mile stroll at Nay Aug Park on June 5 at 4:30pm. Take Steps is CCFA’s national evening walk and celebration and the nation’s largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases, which affect over 1.4 million American adults and children.
Here is Carolyn’s message:
I had a great time at this walk last year with all of my friends and family there to support me. I am hoping for even greater success this year. Please join me to walk, or sponsor me, or come to one of my bake sales or lemonade stands to show your support. The 2010 walk is June 5th at Nay Aug Park in Scranton and I have been chosen as the Honored Hero, check out my bio on the home page of the Scranton walk. Thank you!
Your donation will help support local patient programs, as well as important research projects. In addition to donating, you can join us at the event as a member of our team. There will be food, music and kid’s activities. The more money we raise, the closer we will be to making life more manageable for patients who live with these diseases every day.
From the Antall Family:
To register or donate please here. To register for the walk click on join a team and type in Carolyn. The full team name is “Carolyn’s Crew is Chasing a Cure for Crohn’s.” If you can’t walk but would like to donate to Carolyn’s efforts you can go to the same link and click on donate to a walker in the left hand column to find her.
Team shirts will be available for purchase soon. We are also planning the big bake sale/ lemonade stand blitz as the weather gets nicer. Stay tuned for details. That is Carolyn’s favorite part and she donates all proceeds to the walk. You may hear of additional efforts through students at Chester Street and the Middle School.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can join us for any part of this adventure.
Jen, Dave, Pat and of course Carolyn
